Ezekiel 21:2

“Human, look toward Jerusalem and speak against the holy place. Prophesy against the land of Israel.

After I finished speaking, they spoke no more. My words fell very gently on their ears.

You have sent your messengers to insult the Lord. You have said, “With my many chariots I have gone to the tops of the mountains, to the highest mountains of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars and its best pine trees. I have gone to its greatest heights and its best forests.

So prophesy against them, prophesy, human.”

“Human, look toward the south. Prophesy against the south and against the forest of the southern area.

Then the Lord spoke his word to me, saying:

“ ‘So this is what the Lord God says: How terrible it will be for the city of murderers! I myself will pile the wood high for burning.

“Human, look toward the people of Ammon and prophesy against them.

“Human, look toward the city of Sidon and prophesy against her.

“Human, look toward the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and all Egypt.

“Human, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say: ‘Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord.

“Human, look toward Gog of the land of Magog, the chief ruler of the nations of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him

Then get yourself an iron plate and set it up like an iron wall between you and the city. Turn your face toward the city as if to attack it and then attack. This is a sign to Israel.

Then you will look toward Jerusalem, which is being attacked. With your arm bare, you will prophesy against Jerusalem.

“Human, look toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them.

So listen to the Lord’s word. You tell me, ‘Don’t prophesy against Israel, and stop prophesying against the descendants of Isaac.’

But you people want a false prophet who will tell you nothing but lies. You want one who promises to prophesy good things for you if you give him wine and beer. He’s just the prophet for you.

The prophets say, “Don’t prophesy to us! Don’t prophesy about these things! Nothing to make us feel bad will happen!”

Also pray for me that when I speak, God will give me words so that I can tell the secret of the Good News without fear.

My teaching will drop like rain; my words will fall like dew. They will be like showers on the grass; they will pour down like rain on young plants.
