People with understanding want more knowledge, but fools just want more foolishness.

Wise people use knowledge when they speak, but fools pour out foolishness.

“How terrible it will be for the leaders of Judah, who are scattering and destroying my people,” says the Lord.

This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: “Don’t pay attention to what those prophets are saying to you. They are trying to fool you. They talk about visions their own minds made up, not about visions from me.

A message to the prophets: My heart is broken. All my bones shake. I’m like someone who is drunk, like someone who has been overcome with wine. This is because of the Lord and his holy words.

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah! The Lord did not send you, and you have made the people of Judah trust in lies.

Your prophets saw visions, but they were false and worth nothing. They did not point out your sins to keep you from being captured. They preached what was false and led you wrongly.

Say, ‘This is what the Lord God says: How terrible it will be for women who sew magic charms on their wrists and make veils of every length to trap people! You ruin the lives of my people but try to save your own lives.

People of Israel, your prophets have been like wild dogs hunting to kill and eat among ruins.

“Human, prophesy against the leaders of Israel, who are like shepherds. Prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Lord God says: How terrible it will be for the shepherds of Israel who feed only themselves! Why don’t the shepherds feed the flock?

The time of punishment has come, the time to pay for sins. Let Israel know this: You think the prophet is a fool, and you say the spiritual person is crazy. You have sinned very much, and your hatred is great.

Then the Lord said to me, “Get the things used by a foolish shepherd again,

You foolish people! The same one who made what is outside also made what is inside.

“How terrible for you, you experts on the law. You have taken away the key to learning about God. You yourselves would not learn, and you stopped others from learning, too.”

Telling the Good News does not give me any reason for bragging. Telling the Good News is my duty—something I must do. And how terrible it will be for me if I do not tell the Good News.

This person is full of pride and understands nothing, but is sick with a love for arguing and fighting about words. This brings jealousy, fighting, speaking against others, evil mistrust,

But they will not be successful in what they do, because as with Jannes and Jambres, everyone will see that they are foolish.
