Moses said to the king, “Please set the time when I should pray for you, your people, and your officers. Then the frogs will leave you and your houses and will remain only in the Nile.”

Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “There are many of you, so you go first. Choose a bull and prepare it. Pray to your god, but don’t start the fire.”

Seven days passed after the Lord changed the Nile River.

The king answered, “Tomorrow.” Moses said, “What you want will happen. By this you will know that there is no one like the Lord our God.

The frogs will leave you, your houses, your officers, and your people. They will remain only in the Nile.”

The king called for Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people. I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

An ax is not better than the person who swings it. A saw is not better than the one who uses it. A stick cannot control the person who picks it up. A club cannot pick up the person!

The Lord answered, “I have forgiven them as you asked.

Then the Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men to defeat the Midianites. I don’t want the Israelites to brag that they saved themselves.
