This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: ‘When the Israelites came out of Egypt, the Amalekites tried to stop them from going to Canaan. So I will punish them.

The Amalekites live in the southern area; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the mountains; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan River.”

Whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites, Amalekites, and other peoples from the east would come and attack them.

He fought bravely and defeated the Amalekites. He saved the Israelites from their enemies who had robbed them.
