Every morning each person gathered as much food as he needed, but when the sun became hot, it melted away.

But some of the people did not listen to Moses and kept part of it to eat the next morning. It became full of worms and began to stink, so Moses was angry with those people.

On the sixth day the people gathered twice as much food—four quarts for every person. When all the leaders of the community came and told this to Moses,

Remember your Creator while you are young, before the days of trouble come and the years when you say, “I find no pleasure in them.”

Whatever work you do, do your best, because you are going to the grave, where there is no working, no planning, no knowledge, and no wisdom.

Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.

Then Jesus said, “The light will be with you for a little longer, so walk while you have the light. Then the darkness will not catch you. If you walk in the darkness, you will not know where you are going.

God says, “At the right time I heard your prayers. On the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you that the “right time” is now, and the “day of salvation” is now.
