The Lord said, “Say this to Baruch: ‘This is what the Lord says: I will soon tear down what I have built, and I will pull up what I have planted everywhere in Judah.

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all who cause sin and all who do evil.

Jesus answered, “Every plant that my Father in heaven has not planted himself will be pulled up by the roots.

But the angel said to him, “Zechariah, don’t be afraid. God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give birth to a son, and you will name him John.

Now, listen! You will not be able to speak until the day these things happen, because you did not believe what I told you. But they will really happen.”

Now Elizabeth, your relative, is also pregnant with a son though she is very old. Everyone thought she could not have a baby, but she has been pregnant for six months.

When a woman gives birth to a baby, she has pain, because her time has come. But when her baby is born, she forgets the pain, because she is so happy that a child has been born into the world.

When Jesus said this, they tried to seize him. But no one was able to touch him, because it was not yet the right time.

“The promise God made to Abraham was soon to come true, and the number of people in Egypt grew large.

At this time Moses was born, and he was very beautiful. For three months Moses was cared for in his father’s house.

But when the right time came, God sent his Son who was born of a woman and lived under the law.

Then Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in Moab, as the Lord had said.

Just as everyone must die once and then be judged,

Those who once had plenty of food now must work for food, but people who were hungry are hungry no more. The woman who could not have children now has seven, but the woman who had many children now is sad.
