They brag about the things they want. They bless the greedy but hate the Lord.

So the Lord became angry with his people and hated his own children.

You are not a God who is pleased with the wicked; you do not live with those who do evil.

When God heard them, he became very angry and rejected the people of Israel completely.

But now you have refused and rejected your appointed king. You have been angry with him.

Heaven and earth, listen, because the Lord is speaking: “I raised my children and helped them grow up, but they have turned against me.

“What is my beloved Judah doing in my Temple when she makes many evil plans? Do you think animal sacrifices will stop your punishment? When you do your evil, then you are happy.”

When commander Nebuzaradan found Jeremiah, Nebuzaradan said to him, “The Lord your God announced this disaster would come to this place.

He cut down his Temple like a garden; he destroyed the meeting place. The Lord has made Jerusalem forget the set feasts and Sabbath days. He has rejected the king and the priest in his great anger.

Also I will place my Holy Tent among you, and I will not turn away from you.

I will destroy your places where gods are worshiped and cut down your incense altars. I will pile your dead bodies on the lifeless forms of your idols. I will hate you.

The Lord God made this promise; the Lord God All-Powerful says: “I hate the pride of the Israelites, and I hate their strong buildings, so I will let the enemy take the city and everything in it.”

In one month I got rid of three shepherds. The flock did not pay attention to me, and I got impatient with them.

But because you are lukewarm—neither hot, nor cold—I am ready to spit you out of my mouth.

The Lord was angry with the people of Israel, so he handed them over to robbers who took their possessions. He let their enemies who lived around them defeat them; they could not protect themselves.
