The Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not marry people of other nations. If you do, they will cause you to follow their gods.” But Solomon fell in love with these women.

Fools will die because they refuse to listen; they will be destroyed because they do not care.

So brothers and sisters, be careful that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that will turn you away from the living God.

Idols are of no use, so don’t worship them. They can’t help you or save you. They are useless!

But if you are stubborn and do evil, he will sweep you and your king away.”
