David said, “Now, in front of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of God, I tell you these things: Be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God. Then you will keep this good land and pass it on to your descendants forever.

So they would all trust God and would not forget what he had done but would obey his commands.

But Jesus said, “No, blessed are those who hear the teaching of God and obey it.”

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

This is the message Moses gave to all the people of Israel in the desert east of the Jordan River. They were in the desert area near Suph, between Paran and the towns of Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

be careful to obey all the commands and laws I am giving you today.

Today the Lord your God commands you to obey all these rules and laws; be careful to obey them with your whole being.

He will make you greater than all the other nations he made. He will give you praise, fame, and honor, and you will be a holy people to the Lord your God, as he has said.

Soon you will cross the Jordan River to go into the land the Lord your God is giving you. On that day set up some large stones and cover them with plaster.

Be sure to obey the commands of the Lord your God and the rules and laws he has given you.

A person who follows all of God’s law but fails to obey even one command is guilty of breaking all the commands in that law.
