Then I would not be ashamed when I study your commands.

Obey the Lord your God, and keep his commands and laws that I give you today.”

You must completely obey the Lord your God, and you must carefully follow all his commands I am giving you today. Then the Lord your God will make you greater than any other nation on earth.

The Lord will make you his holy people, as he promised. But you must obey his commands and do what he wants you to do.

This will make you today his own people. He will be your God, as he told you and as he promised your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

But the Lord brought you out of Egypt, which tested you like a furnace for melting iron, and he made you his very own people, as you are now.

You are holy people who belong to the Lord your God. He has chosen you from all the people on earth to be his very own.

He gave himself for us so he might pay the price to free us from all evil and to make us pure people who belong only to him—people who are always wanting to do good deeds.

But you are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. You were chosen to tell about the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
