The Lord your God has made you grow in number so that there are as many of you as there are stars in the sky.

There were only seventy of your ancestors when they went down to Egypt, and now the Lord your God has made you as many as the stars in the sky.

You people may have outnumbered the stars, but only a few of you will be left, because you did not obey the Lord your God.

Remember the men who served you—Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. You promised with an oath to them and said, ‘I will make your descendants as many as the stars in the sky. I will give your descendants all this land that I have promised them, and it will be theirs forever.’ ”

I will surely bless you and give you many descendants. They will be as many as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, and they will capture the cities of their enemies.

Then God led Abram outside and said, “Look at the sky. There are so many stars you cannot count them. Your descendants also will be too many to count.”

Your descendants will be as many as the dust of the earth. They will spread west and east, north and south, and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants.

You made their children as many as the stars in the sky, and you brought them into the land that you told their ancestors to enter and take over.

The total number of men was 603,550.

The Israelites traveled from Rameses to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men walking, not including the women and children.

The Lord had promised to make the Israelites as many as the stars in the sky. So David only counted the men who were twenty years old and older.

And when the Ark was set down, Moses said, “Return, Lord, to the thousands of people of Israel.”

I pray that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, will give you a thousand times more people and do all the wonderful things he promised.

God blessed them, and they grew in number. Their cattle did not become fewer.

Look at Abraham, your ancestor, and Sarah, who gave birth to your ancestors. Abraham had no children when I called him, but I blessed him and gave him many descendants.

I made you grow like a plant in the field. You grew up and became tall and became like a beautiful jewel. Your breasts formed, and your hair grew, but you were naked and without clothes.
