Daniel 2:18

Daniel asked his friends to pray that the God of heaven would show them mercy and help them understand this secret so he and his friends would not be killed with the other wise men of Babylon.

‘Judah, pray to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you important secrets you have never heard before.’

“Also, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about something and pray for it, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

“If a man has a hundred sheep but one of the sheep gets lost, he will leave the other ninety-nine on the hill and go to look for the lost sheep.

They will call to me, and I will answer them. I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.

Call to me in times of trouble. I will save you, and you will honor me.”

You will again see the difference between good and evil people, between those who serve God and those who don’t.

The king of Assyria sent his field commander to make fun of the living God. Maybe the Lord your God will hear what the commander said and will punish him for it. So pray for the few of us who are left alive.”

So the Lord knows how to save those who serve him when troubles come. He will hold evil people and punish them, while waiting for the Judgment Day.

Brothers and sisters, I beg you to help me in my work by praying to God for me. Do this because of our Lord Jesus and the love that the Holy Spirit gives us.

After Herod arrested Peter, he put him in jail and handed him over to be guarded by sixteen soldiers. Herod planned to bring Peter before the people for trial after the Passover Feast.

If you throw us into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from the furnace. He will save us from your power, O king.

“This is what the Lord God says: I will let myself be asked by the people of Israel to do this for them again: I will make their people grow in number like a flock.

I thank you and praise you, God of my ancestors, because you have given me wisdom and power. You told me what we asked of you; you told us about the king’s dream.”

“Since the stump of the tree and its roots were left in the ground, your kingdom will be given back to you when you learn that one in heaven rules your kingdom.

Then Jonah said to them, “I am a Hebrew. I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land.”

Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love continues forever.
