The Lord God made this promise; the Lord God All-Powerful says: “I hate the pride of the Israelites, and I hate their strong buildings, so I will let the enemy take the city and everything in it.”

The people of Israel have gone deep into sin as the people of Gibeah did. The Lord will remember the evil things they have done, and he will punish their sins.

The Israelites offer sacrifices to me as gifts and eat the meat, but the Lord is not pleased with them. He remembers the evil they have done, and he will punish them for their sins. They will be slaves again as they were in Egypt.

It never enters their minds that I remember all their evil deeds. The bad things they do are all around them; they are right in front of me.

The wicked think, “God has forgotten us. He doesn’t see what is happening.”

People will no longer have to teach their neighbors and relatives to know the Lord, because all people will know me, from the least to the most important,” says the Lord. “I will forgive them for the wicked things they did, and I will not remember their sins anymore.”

God may let these evil people feel safe, but he is watching their ways.

God has risen with a shout of joy; the Lord has risen as the trumpets sounded.

The Lord All-Powerful said to me: “You people will die before this guilt is forgiven.” The Lord God All-Powerful said this.
