“So now I will again tell what I have against you,” says the Lord. “And I will tell what I have against your grandchildren.

“Then the King will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, anything you refused to do for even the least of my people here, you refused to do for me.’

In the past I spoke against Christ and persecuted him and did all kinds of things to hurt him. But God showed me mercy, because I did not know what I was doing. I did not believe.

This is what the Lord says: “I was fair to your ancestors, so why did they turn away from me? Your ancestors worshiped useless idols and became useless themselves.

The Lord came and stood there and called as he had before, “Samuel, Samuel!” Samuel said, “Speak, Lord. I am your servant and I am listening.”

When the Lord saw Moses was coming to look at the bush, God called to him from the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”

But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham! Abraham!” Abraham answered, “Yes.”

After these things God tested Abraham’s faith. God said to him, “Abraham!” And he answered, “Here I am.”

The angel said, “Hagar, Sarai’s slave girl, where have you come from? Where are you going?” Hagar answered, “I am running away from my mistress Sarai.”

But the Lord God called to the man and said, “Where are you?”

Pilate asked, “Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted louder, “Crucify him!”

Saul fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

“About noon when I came near Damascus, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed all around me.

I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ The voice said, ‘I am Jesus from Nazareth whom you are persecuting.’
