Stop your foolish ways, and you will live; take the road of understanding.

“Come out of Babylon, my people! Run for your lives! Run from the Lord’s great anger.

You snakes! You are evil people, so how can you say anything good? The mouth speaks the things that are in the heart.

Evil and sinful people ask for a miracle as a sign, but they will not be given any sign, except the sign of Jonah.” Then Jesus left them and went away.

Jesus answered, “You people have no faith, and your lives are all wrong. How long must I put up with you? How long must I continue to be patient with you? Bring the boy here.”

“You are snakes! A family of poisonous snakes! How are you going to escape God’s judgment?

The people who live now are living in a sinful and evil time. If people are ashamed of me and my teaching, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes with his Father’s glory and with the holy angels.”

I have five brothers, and Lazarus could warn them so that they will not come to this place of pain.’

So be ready all the time. Pray that you will be strong enough to escape all these things that will happen and that you will be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

There are many other things Jesus did. If every one of them were written down, I suppose the whole world would not be big enough for all the books that would be written.

He told us to preach to the people and to tell them that he is the one whom God chose to be the judge of the living and the dead.

Judas and Silas, who were also prophets, said many things to encourage the believers and make them stronger.

Then Paul went upstairs again, broke bread, and ate. He spoke to them a long time, until it was early morning, and then he left.

He said many things to strengthen the followers in the different places on his way through Macedonia. Then he went to Greece,

I warned both Jews and Greeks to change their lives and turn to God and believe in our Lord Jesus.

I don’t care about my own life. The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me—to tell people the Good News about God’s grace.

A young man named Eutychus was sitting in the window. As Paul continued talking, Eutychus was falling into a deep sleep. Finally, he went sound asleep and fell to the ground from the third floor. When they picked him up, he was dead.

Paul and the people chose a day for a meeting and on that day many more of the Jews met with Paul at the place he was staying. He spoke to them all day long. Using the law of Moses and the prophets’ writings, he explained the kingdom of God, and he tried to persuade them to believe these things about Jesus.

One of the believers was named Joseph, a Levite born in Cyprus. The apostles called him Barnabas (which means “one who encourages”).

So we have been sent to speak for Christ. It is as if God is calling to you through us. We speak for Christ when we beg you to be at peace with God.

“Leave those people, and be separate, says the Lord. Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will accept you.”

Again, I warn every man: If you allow yourselves to be circumcised, you must follow all the law.

In the Lord’s name, I tell you this. Do not continue living like those who do not believe. Their thoughts are worth nothing.

They have done evil against him. To their shame they are no longer his children; they are an evil and lying people.

Then you will be innocent and without any wrong. You will be God’s children without fault. But you are living with crooked and mean people all around you, among whom you shine like stars in the dark world.

You know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children.

Be careful in your life and in your teaching. If you continue to live and teach rightly, you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

I wrote this short letter with the help of Silas, who I know is a faithful brother in Christ. I wrote to encourage you and to tell you that this is the true grace of God. Stand strong in that grace.
