Then she came to Elisha at the hill and grabbed his feet. Gehazi came near to pull her away, but Elisha said to him, “Leave her alone. She’s very upset, and the Lord has not told me about it. He has hidden it from me.”

So she went to Elisha, the man of God, at Mount Carmel. When he saw her coming from far away, he said to his servant Gehazi, “Look, there’s the Shunammite woman!

Run to meet her and ask, ‘Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is the boy all right?’ ” She answered, “Everything is all right.”

One of the officers said, “None, my master and king. It’s Elisha, the prophet from Israel. He can tell you what you speak in your bedroom.”

“I hate my life, so I will complain without holding back; I will speak because I am so unhappy.

No one else can know your sadness, and strangers cannot share your joy.

The will to live can get you through sickness, but no one can live with a broken spirit.

Before the Lord God does anything, he tells his plans to his servants the prophets.

But Jesus did not answer the woman. So his followers came to Jesus and begged him, “Tell the woman to go away. She is following us and shouting.”

The people warned the blind men to be quiet, but they shouted even more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings.” The women came up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.

Some people brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch them, but his followers told them to stop.

Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you troubling her? She did an excellent thing for me.

and stood behind Jesus at his feet, crying. She began to wash his feet with her tears, and she dried them with her hair, kissing them many times and rubbing them with the perfume.

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father.

Just then his followers came back from town and were surprised to see him talking with a woman. But none of them asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”

Hannah was so sad that she cried and prayed to the Lord.
