Elisha saw it and shouted, “My father! My father! The chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” And Elisha did not see him anymore. Then Elisha grabbed his own clothes and tore them to show how sad he was.

Then Jacob tore his clothes and put on rough cloth to show that he was upset, and he continued to be sad about his son for a long time.

Enoch walked with God; one day Enoch could not be found, because God took him.

At this time Elisha became sick. Before he died, Jehoash king of Israel went to Elisha and cried for him. Jehoash said, “My father, my father! The chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”

Good people bless and build up their city, but the wicked can destroy it with their words.

Who has gone up to heaven and come back down? Who can hold the wind in his hand? Who can gather up the waters in his coat? Who has set in place the ends of the earth? What is his name or his son’s name? Tell me, if you know!

Wisdom makes a person stronger than ten leaders in a city.

Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah that said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘You prayed to me about Sennacherib king of Assyria.

The king of Assyria sent his field commander to make fun of the living God. Maybe the Lord your God will hear what the commander said and will punish him for it. So pray for the few of us who are left alive.”

After the Lord Jesus said these things to his followers, he was carried up into heaven, and he sat at the right side of God.

When the angels left them and went back to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem. Let’s see this thing that has happened which the Lord has told us about.”

While he was blessing them, he was separated from them and carried into heaven.

The only one who has ever gone up to heaven is the One who came down from heaven—the Son of Man.

After he said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

The angel said, ‘Paul, do not be afraid. You must stand before Caesar. And God has promised you that he will save the lives of everyone sailing with you.’

And some religious people buried Stephen and cried loudly for him.

But now we groan in this tent. We want God to give us our heavenly home,

While we live in this body, we have burdens, and we groan. We do not want to be naked, but we want to be clothed with our heavenly home. Then this body that dies will be fully covered with life.

That is why it says in the Scriptures, “When he went up to the heights, he led a parade of captives, and he gave gifts to people.”

Then the two prophets heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Come up here!” And they went up into heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched.

Micah said to him, “Live with me and be my father and my priest. I will give you four ounces of silver each year and clothes and food.” So the Levite went in.
