But Timothy now has come back to us from you and has brought us good news about your faith and love. He told us that you always remember us in a good way and that you want to see us just as much as we want to see you.

Good news from a faraway place is like a cool drink when you are tired.

How beautiful is the person who comes over the mountains to bring good news, who announces peace and brings good news, who announces salvation and says to Jerusalem, “Your God is King.”

Paul came to Derbe and Lystra, where a follower named Timothy lived. Timothy’s mother was Jewish and a believer, but his father was a Greek.

Later Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.

Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia and joined Paul in Corinth. After this, Paul spent all his time telling people the Good News, showing them that Jesus is the Christ.

I praise you because you remember me in everything, and you follow closely the teachings just as I gave them to you.

So these three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.

When we are in Christ Jesus, it is not important if we are circumcised or not. The important thing is faith—the kind of faith that works through love.

God knows that I want to see you very much, because I love all of you with the love of Christ Jesus.

because we have heard about the faith you have in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all of God’s people.

I, Paul, greet you and write this with my own hand. Remember me in prison. Grace be with you.

We continually recall before God our Father the things you have done because of your faith and the work you have done because of your love. And we thank him that you continue to be strong because of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Brothers and sisters, though we were separated from you for a short time, our thoughts were still with you. We wanted very much to see you and tried hard to do so.

Brothers and sisters, I know you remember our hard work and difficulties. We worked night and day so we would not burden any of you while we preached God’s Good News to you.

So, brothers and sisters, while we have much trouble and suffering, we are encouraged about you because of your faith.

We must always thank God for you, brothers and sisters. This is only right, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love that every one of you has for each other is increasing.

The purpose of this command is for people to have love, a love that comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a true faith.

I thank God as I always mention you in my prayers, day and night. I serve him, doing what I know is right as my ancestors did.

because I hear about the love you have for all God’s holy people and the faith you have in the Lord Jesus.

Remember those who are in prison as if you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering as if you were suffering with them.

Remember your leaders who taught God’s message to you. Remember how they lived and died, and copy their faith.

This is what God commands: that we believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, and that we love each other, just as he commanded.
