Zadok and all the Levites with him carried the Ark of the Agreement with God. They set it down, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had left the city.

He told David that Saul had killed the Lord’s priests.

(Now Abiathar son of Ahimelech had brought the holy vest with him when he came to David at Keilah.)

David learned Saul was making evil plans against him. So he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the holy vest.”

David said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring me the holy vest.”

That same day a man from the tribe of Benjamin ran from the battle. He tore his clothes and put dust on his head to show his great sadness.
