1 Kings 8:1

King Solomon called for the elders of Israel, the heads of the tribes, and the leaders of the families to come to him in Jerusalem. He wanted them to bring the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord from the older part of the city.

When David’s men came to the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled. So Uzzah reached out to steady the Ark of God.

The name of the Lord will be heard in Jerusalem; his praise will be heard there.

Sing praises to the Lord who is king on Mount Zion. Tell the nations what he has done.

Because of these things, this is what the Lord God says: “I will put a stone in the ground in Jerusalem, a tested stone. Everything will be built on this important and precious rock. Anyone who trusts in it will never be disappointed.

I will soon do the things that are right. I will bring salvation soon. I will save Jerusalem and bring glory to Israel.”

One man from each tribe, the leader of his family, will help you.

He called a meeting of all the elders, heads of families, judges, and officers of Israel. He said, “I am now very old.

Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel together at Shechem. He called the elders, heads of families, judges, and officers of Israel to stand before God.

The Scripture says: “I will put a stone in the ground in Jerusalem. Everything will be built on this important and precious rock. Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.”
