The Lord brought trouble on Judah because Ahaz their king led the people of Judah to sin, and he was unfaithful to the Lord.

So I let them go their stubborn way and follow their own advice.

Moses saw that the people were acting wildly. Aaron had let them get out of control and become fools in front of their enemies.

So the Lord caused terrible things to happen to the people because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made.

They are like plants that are placed in the ground, like seeds that are planted. As soon as they begin to grow strong, he blows on them and they die, and the wind blows them away like chaff.

The prophets speak lies, and the priests take power into their own hands, and my people love it this way. But what will you do when the end comes?

This is because you obey the laws of King Omri and do all the things that Ahab’s family does; you follow their advice. So I will let you be destroyed. The people in your city will be laughed at, and other nations will make fun of you.

How terrible for the people of the world because of the things that cause them to sin. Such things will happen, but how terrible for the one who causes them to happen!

For that reason we should stop judging each other. We must make up our minds not to do anything that will make another Christian sin.

One person cannot chase a thousand people, and two people cannot fight ten thousand unless their Rock has sold them, unless the Lord has given them up.
