Dear children, do not let anyone lead you the wrong way. Christ is righteous. So to be like Christ a person must do what is right.

Happy are those who do right, who do what is fair at all times.

You love right and hate evil, so God has chosen you from among your friends; he has set you apart with much joy.

I tell you that if you are no more obedient than the teachers of the law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

In every country God accepts anyone who worships him and does what is right.

Hearing the law does not make people right with God. It is those who obey the law who will be right with him.

Surely you know that the people who do wrong will not inherit God’s kingdom. Do not be fooled. Those who sin sexually, worship idols, take part in adultery, those who are male prostitutes, or men who have sexual relations with other men, those who steal, are greedy, get drunk, lie about others, or rob—these people will not inherit God’s kingdom.

Do not let anyone fool you by telling you things that are not true, because these things will bring God’s anger on those who do not obey him.

Light brings every kind of goodness, right living, and truth.

that you will be filled with the good things produced in your life by Christ to bring glory and praise to God.

But God said this about his Son: “God, your throne will last forever and ever. You will rule your kingdom with fairness.

Do what God’s teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.

Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so we would stop living for sin and start living for what is right. And you are healed because of his wounds.

My dear children, I write this letter to you so you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a helper in the presence of the Father—Jesus Christ, the One who does what is right.

I am writing this letter about those people who are trying to lead you the wrong way.

Since you know that Christ is righteous, you know that all who do right are God’s children.

My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but by our actions and true caring.

Christ is pure, and all who have this hope in Christ keep themselves pure like Christ.

This is how love is made perfect in us: that we can be without fear on the day God judges us, because in this world we are like him.
