Then the king commanded his men to make Abram leave Egypt; so Abram and his wife left with everything they owned.

King David was living in his palace, and the Lord had given him peace from all his enemies around him.

Since it was almost time for David to die, he gave his son Solomon his last commands.

When David moved into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Look, I am living in a palace made of cedar, but the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord sits in a tent.”

King David stood up and said, “Listen to me, my relatives and my people. I wanted to build a place to keep the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord. I wanted it to be God’s footstool. So I made plans to build a temple.

and he put his hands on him and gave him orders, just as the Lord had told him.

until the day he was taken up into heaven. Before this, with the help of the Holy Spirit, Jesus told the apostles he had chosen what they should do.

The Lord said to Moses, “Soon you will die. Get Joshua and come to the Meeting Tent so that I may command him.” So Moses and Joshua went to the Meeting Tent.

Then the Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and brave, because you will lead the people of Israel to the land I promised them, and I will be with you.”

Before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels, I command you to do these things without showing favor of any kind to anyone.

I give you a command in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, the One who will judge the living and the dead, and by his coming and his kingdom:
