An evil person is ensnared by the offense of his lips, But the righteous will escape from trouble.

If you have been ensnared by the words of your mouth, Or caught by the words of your mouth,

So the word of the Lord to them will be, “Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there,” That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared, and taken captive.

“Many will stumble over them, Then they will fall and be broken; They will be snared and caught.”

Then Darius the king wrote to all the peoples, nations, and populations of all languages who were living in all the land: “May your peace be great!

And Adoni-bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and their big toes cut off used to gather up scraps under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me.” So they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I will strike you and remove your head from you. Then I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,
