In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

¶“Is God not in the height of heaven? Look also at the highest stars, how high they are!

“Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise?

“If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight,

¶“Remember that you are to exalt His work, Of which people have sung.

He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting.

Great are the works of the Lord; They are studied by all who delight in them.

Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all stars of light!

The heavens tell of the glory of God; And their expanse declares the work of His hands.

¶By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their lights.

¶The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all it contains, You have established them.

When He had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.

Then the soothsayer priests said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

But if I cast out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

And be careful not to raise your eyes to heaven and look at the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the heavenly lights, and allow yourself to be drawn away and worship them and serve them, things which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.
