Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun.
He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting.
You appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the animals of the forest prowl about.
¶When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have set in place;
The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating disaster; I am the Lord who does all these things.
This is what the Lord says: ‘If My covenant for day and night does not continue, and I have not established the fixed patterns of heaven and earth,
so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
