Add guilt to their guilt, And may they not come into Your righteousness.

Do not forgive their guilt and do not let their sin be wiped out before You, for they have demoralized the builders.

“Why do you persecute me as God does, And are not satisfied with my flesh?

“I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned nor hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also command the clouds not to rain on it.”

¶However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore, And our pains that He carried; Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted, Struck down by God, and humiliated.

So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their wrongdoing in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the wrongdoing of their forefathers they will rot away with them.

And seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves alone; and He *said to it, “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,

So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

however, Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law.
