Help, Lord, for the godly person has come to an end, For the faithful have disappeared from the sons of mankind.

Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying,

Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, And do not punish me in Your burning anger.

Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

¶“For this is like the days of Noah to Me, When I swore that the waters of Noah Would not flood the earth again; So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you Nor rebuke you.

“For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made.

Correct me, Lord, but with justice; Not with Your anger, or You will bring me to nothing.

“Jacob My servant, do not fear,” declares the Lord, “For I am with you. For I will make a complete destruction of all the nations Where I have driven you, Yet I will not make a complete destruction of you; But I will correct you properly And by no means leave you unpunished.”
