Who devise evil things in their hearts; They continually stir up wars.

The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers conspire together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

Those who seek my life lay snares for me; And those who seek to injure me have threatened destruction, And they plot deception all day long.

They attack, they lurk, They watch my steps, As they have waited to take my life.

Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; Those who would destroy me are powerful, those who oppose me with lies; What I did not steal, I then have to restore.

The words of the wicked wait in ambush for blood, But the mouth of the upright will rescue them.

¶Do not lie in ambush, you wicked person, against the home of the righteous; Do not destroy his resting place;

The godly person has perished from the land, And there is no upright person among mankind. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a net.

But this has happened so that the word that is written in their Law will be fulfilled: ‘They hated Me for no reason.’

So do not listen to them, for more than forty of them are in hiding to ambush him, and these men have put themselves under an oath not to eat or drink until they kill him; and now they are ready and waiting for assurance from you.”

So, my father, look! Indeed, look at the edge of your robe in my hand! And he said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt maliciously with you.

He also said, “Why then is my lord pursuing his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?
