“Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.

“Like a flower he comes out and withers. He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.

I hope for Your salvation, Lord, And do Your commandments.

¶My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.

For I wait for You, Lord; You will answer, Lord my God.

Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have named their lands after their own names.

When there is a person who has labored with wisdom, knowledge, and skill, and then gives his legacy to one who has not labored for it; this too is futility and a great evil.

There was a man without a dependent, having neither a son nor a brother, yet there was no end to all his labor. Indeed, his eyes were not satisfied with riches, and he never asked, “And for whom do I labor and deprive myself of pleasure?” This too is futility, and it is an unhappy task.

And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking forward to the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
