Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has allowed your sin to pass; you shall not die.

Why have you despised the word of the Lord, by doing evil in His sight? You have struck and killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, you have taken his wife as your wife, and you have slaughtered him with the sword of the sons of Ammon.

Now David’s heart troubled him after he had counted the people. So David said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, Lord, please overlook the guilt of Your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”

Then David spoke to the Lord when he saw the angel who was striking down the people, and said, “Behold, it is I who have sinned, and it is I who have done wrong; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let Your hand be against me and against my father’s house!”

and forgive Your people who have sinned against You and all their wrongdoings which they have committed against You, and make them objects of compassion before those who have taken them captive, so that they will have compassion on them

whatever prayer or plea is made by anyone or by all Your people Israel, each knowing his own affliction and his own pain, and spreading his hands toward this house,

Now therefore, make confession to the Lord God of your fathers and do His will; and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives.”

“He will sing to people and say, ‘I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our wrongdoings from us.

Who pardons all your guilt, Who heals all your diseases;

¶Turn to me and be gracious to me, For I am lonely and afflicted.

Look at my misery and my trouble, And forgive all my sins.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

For I admit my guilt; I am full of anxiety because of my sin.

But my enemies are vigorous and strong, And those who wrongfully hate me are many.

Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in secret You will make wisdom known to me.

But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, Slow to anger and abundant in mercy and truth.

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.

One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion.

This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says, “I have done no wrong.”

It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.

“How can you say, ‘I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Baals’? Look at your way in the valley! Know what you have done! You are a swift young camel running about senselessly on her ways,

You said, ‘I am innocent; Surely His anger is turned away from me.’ Behold, I will enter into judgment with you Because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’

‘Only acknowledge your wrongdoing, That you have revolted against the Lord your God, And have scattered your favors to the strangers under every leafy tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares the Lord.

“Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will certainly have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.

“Come, let’s return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.

So it shall be when he becomes guilty of one of these things, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned.

“Would anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.

And He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts; because that which is highly esteemed among people is detestable in the sight of God.

For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but the one who is forgiven little, loves little.”

Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, I implore you, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and give praise to Him; and tell me now what you have done. Do not hide it from me.”
