¶Hear, Lord, when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and answer me.
“I will say to God, ‘Do not condemn me; Let me know why You contend with me.
¶Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,
You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have untied my sackcloth and encircled me with joy,
For my life is spent with sorrow And my years with sighing; My strength has failed because of my guilt, And my body has wasted away.
Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
Listen to the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray.
