Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, “Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; help us, Lord our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You.”

How much less man, that maggot, And a son of man, that worm!”

Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.

In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be put to shame; In Your righteousness rescue me.

Because of all my adversaries, I have become a disgrace, Especially to my neighbors, And an object of dread to my acquaintances; Those who see me in the street flee from me.

My enemies speak evil against me, “When will he die, and his name perish?”

You have removed my acquaintances far from me; You have made me an object of loathing to them; I am shut up and cannot go out.

“Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you people of Israel; I will help you,” declares the Lord, “and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

This is what the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One, Says to the despised One, To the One abhorred by the nation, To the Servant of rulers: “Kings will see and arise, Princes will also bow down, Because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.

Let him give his cheek to the one who is going to strike him; Let him be filled with shame.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a heavy drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ And yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.”

The Jews then were astonished, saying, “How has this Man become learned, not having been educated?”

The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill You?”

The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not rightly say that You are a Samaritan, and You have a demon?”

Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood.

And they *sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!
