Psalm 17:1

Hear a just cause, Lord, give Your attention to my cry; Listen to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.

“I was also blameless toward Him, And I have kept myself from my wrongdoing.

Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.

let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open, to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have committed against You; I and my father’s house have sinned.

Although there is no violence in my hands, And my prayer is pure.

Do not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; On the day when I call answer me quickly.

I cry out with my voice to the Lord; With my voice I implore the Lord for compassion.

“Give Your attention to my cry, For I have been brought very low; Rescue me from my persecutors, For they are too strong for me.

Hear my prayer, Lord, Listen to my pleadings! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness!

The Lord is near to all who call on Him, To all who call on Him in truth.

¶The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has repaid me.

As soon as they hear, they obey me; Foreigners pretend to obey me.

Vindicate me, God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; Save me from the deceitful and unjust person!

Listen to the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray.

¶Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.

He will redeem my soul in peace from the battle which is against me, For they are many who are aggressive toward me.

Hear my cry, God; Give Your attention to my prayer.

From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

But God has heard; He has given attention to the sound of my prayer.

The Lord judges the peoples; Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.

See our shield, God, And look at the face of Your anointed.

Incline Your ear, Lord, and answer me; For I am afflicted and needy.

Listen, Lord, to my prayer; And give Your attention to the sound of my pleading!

For my soul has had enough troubles, And my life has approached Sheol.

Then the Lord said, “Because this people approaches Me with their words And honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of the commandment of men that is taught;

Yet in spite of all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but rather in deception,” declares the Lord.

‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!”

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
