¶Arise, Lord; God, lift up Your hand. Do not forget the humble.

¶Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their ravages, My only life from the lions.

Why do You hide Your face And forget our affliction and oppression?

And my soul is greatly horrified; But You, Lord—how long?

God, why have You rejected us forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?

¶Lord God of armies, How long will You be angry with the prayer of Your people?

Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?

¶How long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?

Satisfy us in the morning with Your graciousness, That we may sing for joy and rejoice all our days.

But your wrongdoings have caused a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

Why will You forget us forever? Why do You abandon us for so long?

Then My anger will be kindled against them on that day, and I will abandon them and hide My face from them, and they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will find them; so they will say on that day, ‘Is it not because our God is not among us that these evils have found us?’
