Splendid and majestic is His work, And His righteousness endures forever.

Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

And He will cut off all the horns of the wicked, But the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

¶But You have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.

And my eye has looked at my enemies, My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me.

The crown of the wise is their riches, But the foolishness of fools is simply foolishness.

And if you offer yourself to the hungry And satisfy the need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness, And your gloom will become like midday.

“Is it not to break your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

so that your charitable giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good to them; but you do not always have Me.

But give that which is within as a charitable gift, and then all things are clean for you.

“Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor does a moth destroy.

And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it is all gone, they will receive you into the eternal dwellings.

Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

For some were assuming, since Judas kept the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy the things we need for the feast”; or else, that he was to give something to the poor.

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  ”

and lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each to the extent that any had need.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

For the poor will not cease to exist in the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying, ‘You shall fully open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.’

You shall give generously to him from your flock, your threshing floor, and from your wine vat; you shall give to him as the Lord your God has blessed you.

When the sun goes down you shall certainly return the pledge to him, so that he may sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it will be righteousness for you before the Lord your God.

Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having served and by still serving the saints.

Let the one who does wrong still do wrong, and the one who is filthy still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness, and the one who is holy still keep himself holy.”

Then Hannah prayed and said, “My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares, ‘I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father was to walk before Me forever’; but now the Lord declares, ‘Far be it from Me—for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant.
