In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the needy; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

¶Do good, Lord, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts.

When my spirit felt weak within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have hidden a trap for me.

For You will make them turn their back; You will take aim at their faces with Your bowstrings.

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow To take down the afflicted and the needy, To kill off those who are upright in conduct.

The righteous person will be glad in the Lord and take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will boast.

My shield is with God, Who saves the upright in heart.

¶If one does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and taken aim.

For judgment will again be righteous, And all the upright in heart will follow it.

Light is sown like seed for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.

“They bend their tongues like their bows; Lies and not truth prevail in the land; For they proceed from evil to evil, And they do not know Me,” declares the Lord.

and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.
