My enemies speak evil against me, “When will he die, and his name perish?”

Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the pressure of the wicked; For they bring down trouble upon me And in anger they hold a grudge against me.

¶Disgrace has broken my heart, and I am so sick. And I waited for sympathy, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

I have considered the days of old, The years of long ago.

With which Your enemies have taunted, Lord, With which they have taunted the footsteps of Your anointed.

“You will leave your name as a curse to My chosen ones, And the Lord God will put you to death. But My servants will be called by another name.

Because of them a curse will be used by all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon, saying, ‘May the Lord make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire,’

But they themselves were filled with senseless rage, and began discussing together what they might do to Jesus.

And as I punished them often in all the synagogues, I tried to force them to blaspheme; and since I was extremely enraged at them, I kept pursuing them even to foreign cities.

Now when they heard this, they were infuriated, and they began gnashing their teeth at him.

For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written: “The taunts of those who taunt You have fallen on Me.”
