The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

For ships of Kittim will come against him; therefore he will withdraw in fear and will return and curse the holy covenant and take action; so he will come back and pay attention to those who abandon the holy covenant.

And he will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed to pieces all at the same time, and they were like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them was found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the entire earth.

Just as you saw that a stone was broken off from the mountain without hands, and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is certain and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

The shaggy goat represents the kingdom of Greece, and the large horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

And he looked at Amalek and took up his discourse and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, But his end shall be destruction.”

Then he took up his discourse and said, “Oh, who can live unless God has ordained it?

“Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place— let the reader understand—

“Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?” They said, “Caesar’s.”

If we let Him go on like this, all the people will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take over both our place and our nation.”
