Timna was a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau’s wife Adah.

They destroyed the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and they have lived there to this day.

After these events King Ahasuerus honored Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and promoted him and established his authority over all the officials who were with him.

So the king commanded that it was to be done so; and an edict was issued in Susa, and Haman’s ten sons were hanged.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this in a book as a memorial and recite it to Joshua, that I will utterly wipe out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”

and he said, “Because the Lord has sworn, the Lord will have war against Amalek from generation to generation.”

Then Amalek came and fought against Israel at Rephidim.

“One from Jacob shall rule, And will eliminate the survivors from the city.”

“But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, And they shall oppress Asshur and oppress Eber; So they also will come to destruction.”

“Water will flow from his buckets, And his seed will be by many waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted.

For whenever Israel had sown, the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the people of the east and march against them.

And he acted valiantly and defeated the Amalekites, and saved Israel from the hands of those who plundered them.

This is what the Lord of armies says: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, in that he obstructed him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt.

Then it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had carried out an attack on the Negev and on Ziklag, and had overthrown Ziklag and burned it with fire;

And David slaughtered them from the twilight until the evening of the next day; and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.
