“God is not a man, that He would lie, Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

“I will not violate My covenant, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.

“Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.

and the remainder of the number of bowmen, the warriors of the sons of Kedar, will be few; for the Lord God of Israel has spoken.”

Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, And does not retract His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers, And against the help of the workers of injustice.

The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man of My purpose from a distant country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, I will certainly do it.

So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.

Then he took up his discourse and said, “Arise, Balak, and hear; Listen to me, son of Zippor!

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,

so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to the hope set before us.

(for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, “The Lord has sworn And will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever’ ”);

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose, “He jealously desires the Spirit whom He has made to dwell in us”?

Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; everything came to pass.

Also the Glory of Israel will not lie nor change His mind; for He is not a man, that He would change His mind.”

On that day I will carry out against Eli everything that I have spoken in regard to his house, from beginning to end.
