So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and against you; intercede with the Lord, that He will remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.

Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his female slaves, so that they gave birth to children.

Therefore He said that He would destroy them, If Moses, His chosen one, had not stood in the gap before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.

¶When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and searched diligently for God;

So now, please forgive my sin only this once, and plead with the Lord your God, that He would only remove this death from me.”

Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

And on the next day Moses said to the people, “You yourselves have committed a great sin; and now I am going up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.”

Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, so that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Plead for me.”

So the frogs will come up on you, your people, and on all your servants.” ’ ”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said, “Plead with the Lord to remove the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, so that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”

Lord, they sought You in distress; They could only whisper a prayer, Your discipline was upon them.

Then the Lord said to me, “Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people. Send them away from My presence and have them go!

Yet King Zedekiah sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and the priest Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “Please pray to the Lord our God in our behalf.”

I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their distress they will search for Me.

The people then cried out to Moses; and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire died out.

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You shall see to it yourself!”

But Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.

The Lord was also angry enough with Aaron to destroy him; so I also prayed for Aaron at the same time.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.

Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have violated the command of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and listened to their voice.

Then Saul said, “I have sinned; but please honor me now before the elders of my people and before all Israel, and go back with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God.”
