as well as the priests who were enrolled genealogically according to their fathers’ households, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, by their duties and their divisions.

The Lord will stretch out Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”

For the scepter of wickedness will not rest upon the land of the righteous, So that the righteous will not extend their hands to do wrong.

And you shall anoint the tent of meeting with it, and the ark of the testimony,

And you shall take in your hand this staff, with which you shall perform the signs.”

The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” And he said, “A staff.”

‘And fire has gone out from its stem; It has consumed its shoots and fruit, So that there is no strong stem in it, A scepter to rule.’ ” This is a song of mourning, and has become a song of mourning.

‘Sharpened to make a slaughter, Polished to flash like lightning!’ Or shall we rejoice, the rod of My son despising every tree?

For there is a testing; and what if even the rod which despises will cease to be?” declares the Lord God.

¶Shepherd Your people with Your scepter, The flock of Your possession Which lives by itself in the woodland, In the midst of a fruitful field. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead As in the days of old.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

and write Aaron’s name on the staff of Levi; for there is to be one staff for the head of each of their fathers’ households.

Now on the day that Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed it and consecrated it with all its furnishings, and the altar and all its utensils; he anointed them and consecrated them also.
