So when they heard the Law, they excluded all foreigners from Israel.

But became lustfully greedy in the wilderness, And put God to the test in the desert.

A mixed multitude also went up with them, along with flocks and herds, a very large number of livestock.

“I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ”

The sons of Israel said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread until we were full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this entire assembly with hunger!”

saying, “No, but we will go to the land of Egypt, where we will not see war, or hear the sound of a trumpet, or hunger for bread, and we will stay there”;

And you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying, “Oh that someone would give us meat to eat! For we were well-off in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat and you shall eat.

Then all the congregation raised their voices and cried out, and the people wept that night.

Certainly all the people who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice,

Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to have us die in the wilderness, but you would also appoint yourself as master over us?

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they indeed craved them.

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

“Then at Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah you kept provoking the Lord to anger.
