Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to infants.

and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.

“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Allow the children to come to Me; do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”

Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

But he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son, and now you shall not drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing, for the boy shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’ ”

And she made a vow and said, “Lord of armies, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your bond-servant and remember me, and not forget Your bond-servant, but will give Your bond-servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head.”

But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “I will not go until the child is weaned; then I will bring him, so that he may appear before the Lord and stay there for life.”

Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with a three-year-old bull, one ephah of flour, and a jug of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh, although the child was young.

Now Samuel was ministering before the Lord, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.
