and were close to him, namely, Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven officials of Persia and Media who had access to the king’s presence and sat in the first place in the kingdom—

A despicable person is despised in his eyes, But he honors those who fear the Lord; He takes an oath to his own detriment, and does not change;

As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.

¶For He will give His angels orders concerning you, To protect you in all your ways.

¶“Awake, sword, against My Shepherd, And against the Man, My Associate,” Declares the Lord of armies. “Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

For who has shown contempt for the day of small things? But these seven will rejoice when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel—they are the eyes of the Lord roaming throughout the earth.”

But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

“A bent reed He will not break off, And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish, Until He leads justice to victory.

So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven for one of these little ones to perish.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord *appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”

But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord *appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said,

And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet blast, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

The angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

“The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; but the one who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”

Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s arms; and the rich man also died and was buried.

About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!”

They said to her, “You are out of your mind!” But she kept insisting that it was so. They said, “It is his angel.”

And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong, whom I also serve, came to me,

But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the gates of the prison, and leading them out, he said,

But as for you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you as well, why do you regard your brother or sister with contempt? For we will all appear before the judgment seat of God.

It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother or sister stumbles.

Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.

What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I do not praise you.

So do not look down on him, anyone. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brothers.

To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak; I have become all things to all people, so that I may by all means save some.

Now I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am meek when face to face with you, but bold toward you when absent!

For they say, “His letters are weighty and strong, but his personal presence is unimpressive and his speech contemptible.”

Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.

Therefore, the one who rejects this is not rejecting man, but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to provide service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

For Christ did not enter a holy place made by hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;

And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
