“For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways.

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My instructions?

“How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?

How long will you lie down, you lazy one? When will you arise from your sleep?

The Lord has mixed within her a spirit of distortion; They have led Egypt astray in all that it does, As a drunken person staggers in his vomit.

¶Wash your heart from evil, Jerusalem, So that you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts Lodge within you?

And the Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people be disrespectful to Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, despite all the signs that I have performed in their midst?

“How long shall I put up with this evil congregation who are grumbling against Me? I have heard the complaints of the sons of Israel which they are voicing against Me.

And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

But Jesus, aware of this, said, “You men of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread?

And I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.”

And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was healed at once.

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!

He *said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

Later He appeared to the eleven disciples themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reprimanded them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen from the dead.

And He answered them and *said, “O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!”

And then He said to them, “You foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”

Then He *said to Thomas, “Place your finger here, and see My hands; and take your hand and put it into My side; and do not continue in disbelief, but be a believer.”

For a period of about forty years He put up with them in the wilderness.

And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!”

I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness; but indeed you are bearing with me.

“They have acted corruptly against Him, They are not His children, because of their defect; But are a perverse and crooked generation.
