“They will not hunger or thirst, Nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down; For He who has compassion on them will lead them, And He will guide them to springs of water.

yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution occurs because of the word, immediately he falls away.

Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and they sprang up immediately, because they had no depth of soil.

Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them out.

And when the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

Those on the rocky soil are the ones who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and yet these do not have a firm root; they believe for a while, and in a time of temptation they fall away.

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

They will no longer hunger nor thirst, nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any scorching heat;
