Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

Six days later, Jesus *took with Him Peter and James, and his brother John, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves.

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.

And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and began to be grieved and distressed.

Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them.

And immediately after they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew were questioning Him privately,

The apostles *gathered together with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught.

For this reason also, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill, and some they will persecute,

When the hour came, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him.

And so Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”

and likewise also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not fear; from now on you will be catching people.”

When the apostles returned, they gave an account to Him of all that they had done. And taking them with Him, He withdrew privately to a city called Bethsaida.

Philip *came and *told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip *came and *told Jesus.

Lying back on Jesus’ chest was one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

So she *ran and *came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and *said to them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.”

Simon Peter, Thomas who was called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

Peter turned around and *saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them—the one who also had leaned back on His chest at the supper and said, “Lord, who is the one who is betraying You?”

This is the disciple who is testifying about these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to leave also, do you?”

Jesus answered them, “Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.”

Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot; for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him.

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, *said to Him,

When they had entered the city, they went up to the upstairs room where they were staying, that is, Peter, John, James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles.

And he had James the brother of John executed with a sword.

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer.

then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles;

And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers,

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus;

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as strangers, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen

Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not only I, but also all who know the truth,

The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John,

I, John, your brother and fellow participant in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her.”

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
