But as for My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring him into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it.

And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.

As they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named Simon, whom they compelled to carry His cross.

Looking at him, Jesus showed love to him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them, “Listen to Me, all of you, and understand:

“Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.

Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

And while all the people were listening, He said to the disciples,

And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;

They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, carrying His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which in Hebrew is called, Golgotha.

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “It is through many tribulations that we must enter the kingdom of God.”

knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;

and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

I affirm, brothers and sisters, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, that I die daily.

Therefore, if food causes my brother to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to sin.

For though I am free from all people, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may gain more.

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

But whatever things were gain to me, these things I have counted as loss because of Christ.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am supplementing what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of His body, which is the church.

Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.

instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age,

So then, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed.

knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.

Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
